#1 Ranked Rhino-Raiders Nip Lawmen 29-25 with Last Second TD
(August 2006):
The Lawmen traveled 36 players to Ogden Utah in planes, trains and automobiles on Saturday August 19th to face the #1 ranked South Ogden Rhino-Raiders in a Showdown of Champions in the West. The game between the 14-2 Lawmen and 11-0 Rhino-Raiders lived up to all the hype. The Lawmen traveling without starting quarterback, All-American Scott Burke, put up a fierce battle with the #1 ranked Rhino-Raiders but came up short 25-29 in the end when the Rhino-Raiders scored on a 12 yard TD run with just 40 seconds left in the game. The Lawmen brought coach Bill Carlin out of retirement to play quarterback for most of the first three quarters, finally replacing him with all-purpose backup QB/RB Justin Paulk late in the 3rd quarter at which point the Lawmen were still leading 18-10.

The Lawmen were trailing 10-0 after the first quarter, had at 12-10 halftime lead, and an 18-10 lead after 3 quarters, only to find themselves trailing 22-18 with 8 minutes left. At that point, Donyell Crain entered the game as the Lawmen's third quarterback to play and drove the team 62 yards for a touchdown with flashy running and smart passing, putting the Lawmen up 25-22 with only 3:30 remaining.

The Lawmen kickoff was a touchback putting the Rhino-Raiders on the 20. The Rhino-Raiders connected on a 31 yard pass on 3rd and 5 to put the ball on the Lawmen 44 with 2:21 left on the clock. Following that the Rhino-Raiders ran and passed the ball down to the Lawmen 12 with only 44 seconds left in the game, at which point they ran the game-winning 12-yard TD making the score 29-25 Rhino-Raiders with just 40 seconds left. Showing no signs of giving up, the Lawmen passed deep on the first play of the final drive, but Donyell Crain got hit and injured as he almost completed a long pass to Raymond Price, and the Lawmen were unable to score.
