 New 2010 Staff Members Announced

Lawmen announce that Head Coach Al Burrell is returning in 2010 for his first full season as the Lawmen head coach.  Burrell took over the head coach position in 2009, after the regular season had already started.  Coach Burrell is looking forward to starting early this year and helping build the Lawmen back up to championship caliber.  With the help from a few great new staff members and a very solid core of returning players mixed with some highly talented new players, the Lawmen are looking to make another serious run in 2010.

The Lawmen have also hired Don Cotter as the Offensive Line coach and Vice President of team Non-Profit Operations and is in charge of a few other Team and League related matteres.  Cotter also brings a great deal of experience to the Lawmen.  He played on the Offensive Line at Cal from 1990-94 and then played a few seasons on the Oakland Vipers before also retiring to be a full time coach.  He coached the Vipers offensive line for the last several seasons before quitting rather abruptly in the 2nd quarter fo the Vipers game vs the Lawmen last season.

The team has brought in Al Moolick as an offensive assistant to work with coach Al Burrell in getting the team's offense back on track in 2010 after a tough injury ridden 2009 season.  Al is also a full time coach for Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland and is helping the Lawmen to drive ticket sales at Cal Berkeley Club Sports.

The Lawmen have named Hal Williams, who was a defensive assistant coach last season, to be the special teams coordinator for 2010.  Hal brings a several years of experience at both the minor league level and high school level to this position and Hal will also continue to work with the defense in 2010.

The team also welcomes back former team owner and Hall of Fame Player Boots James after a short 1 year retirement from minor league football.  Boots will be working with Coach Al Burrell and Hal Williams on the defensive side of the ball and will be focusing on the Linebackers as well as other defensive aspects.
